In addition to supplying supermarkets and industry, direct-to-consumer sales via their webshop and marketplaces are growing rapidly. To support this growth and deliver on their promise of fast delivery, Verstegen selected PostNL Fulfilment as their logistics partner. The KoneX iPaaS platform was deployed to seamlessly streamline the complex order flows coming from Shopify.
The challenge Verstegen Spices & Sauces faced:
For a brand with Verstegen’s reputation, delivery reliability is critical. Orders from their own Shopify webshop and external channels such as Bol.com needed to be transferred to the PostNL warehouse flawlessly and at high speed. A specific challenge was the requirement for “priority handling” of marketplace orders to meet the strict delivery standards of platforms like Bol.com.
The solution: KoneX acts as the intelligent control tower for all of Verstegen’s e-commerce orders. Thanks to the platform’s flexibility, a fully automated flow has been realized:
- Omnichannel integration: Orders from Shopify and Bol.com are centrally collected and forwarded to PostNL’s systems.
- Priority picking: For Bol.com orders, KoneX includes logic that identifies these orders and prioritizes them in the picking process at PostNL. This allows Verstegen to maintain high performance scores on marketplaces.
- Real-time data flow: Products, stock levels, and Track & Trace information are continuously synchronized, ensuring Verstegen’s customer service team always has accurate, up-to-date information.
The Result: Without a lengthy and high-risk IT project, Verstegen successfully connected their fulfilment provider to their sales channels. The result is a scalable system in which Verstegen retains full control and flexibility, while the logistics operation runs entirely hands-off.
