PostNL Fulfilment is the e-fulfilment service of PostNL N.V. – the publicly traded Dutch postal and parcel company that has been in business since 1946 and, with more than 32,000 employees, operates the largest delivery network in the Netherlands and Belgium. For growing e-commerce brands, PostNL Fulfilment combines two automated fulfilment centers – Houten for regular webshops and West-Zaan for the food sector – with PostNL’s own delivery and direct links to marketplaces such as Bol and Amazon. Two specialized fulfilment centers

Houten – largest AutoStore in the Benelux

The fulfilment center in Houten is an automated 17,000 m² distribution center running on an AutoStore system with 42 robots, 21,000 bins and 6 pick stations – the largest automated AutoStore installation in a fulfilment center in the Benelux. Pick-to-Light and advanced WMS automation ensure consistent picking speeds and low error margins, also at peak volumes (Black Friday, Sinterklaas, Christmas). Houten is intended for regular webshops in fashion, electronics, beauty, health and other non-food categories.

West Zaan – specializing in food

The second fulfilment center in West Zaan is set up specifically for the food sector, with temperature-controlled areas and processes tailored to THT monitoring and food safety. Suitable for specialty foods, supplements and similar product categories that fall outside the standard non-food warehouse.

End-to-end fulfilment chain

PostNL Fulfilment covers the complete logistics chain from inbound to end customer:

• Inbound and warehousing – suppliers deliver products directly to the distribution center, where they are received, checked and placed in the AutoStore system.
• Order processing – automated order picking via 42 robots and Pick-to-Light, with a late cut-off of 11:59 pm. Orders received before midnight are processed the same night for shipment the next business day.
• Packaging – standard or in your corporate style, including packing slip, return form and any accompanying documents.
• Shipping – within the Netherlands and Belgium via our own PostNL delivery network; internationally via selected local carriers per country.
• Returns – integrated return flow with PostNL as return address, assessment, re-stocking and reporting.

Integrations with web shops and marketplaces

PostNL Fulfilment has direct IT links to common e-commerce platforms and marketplaces:

• Web shops – standard links to popular web shop platforms for order nesting, inventory synchronization and track-and-trace feedback.
• Marketplaces – direct integrations with Bol and Amazon, among others, so that marketplace orders automatically enter the same fulfilment flow as webshop orders.
• ERP and accounting – links for inventory, order and invoice synchronization to your back office.
